Relationships

Have you ever really learned how to take care of yourself? have you ever actually stopped to think about it? Our relationships have been based on trying to get someone else to take care of us. When we are tiny babies..we are aware and intuitive, we immediateely begin to develop the habit of trying to please our parents to fulfill their needs so they will continue to take care of us. Later in life it continues. its is like a unconcious agreement I will try to do what ever you want me to do and be the person that you want me to be if you will be there for me and give me what I need, and not leave me. I do not think that this works well. Other people are not able to fulfill our needs successfully so what happens we get frustrated..disappointed then we try to change the other person to better suit our nneeds or we try to change ourselves to accept less than what we actually want then we do things we do not really want to do and end up resenting them sometimes unconscoiusly. IT does not work to try to take care of ourselves by taiking care of otheres. I am the only one who can actually take good care of me so I have found it musch better to do directley what I want and need to do and allow otheres to do the same for themselves. I think its better to make a choice to give or not based on what we truly feel rather than out of fear or obligation. the better we take care of ourselves the more we have to give. Itt really works for me and I now have  a honest, healthy, loving relationship with my man and my self!

The most important lesson in life

The most important lesson in life is learning how to take everything calmly

Patience.......the state of mind of someone who knows how to wait calmly ..it definatley requires constant work.
I have never ever like to wait for anything..Never liked waiting.
I always want to reach my goal, find out my answer, and get wha    tever I wanted..and very quickly. But these days I now have a much better understanding of the importance of patience.
I have to make myself able to be comfortable, calm and attentive and I must be able to wait until things happen. Its good to remember that  patience is not any form o ftorture, but rather a game to play with time.
Affirmation
Today, I wait calmly until opportunities come to me

The world according to me

I am  Me and you are you. Yes you have your own perceptions and I have mine. I can appreciate your life experience but I cannot live your life. O f course, you may have a good idea of what my life is like, but you cannot experience it directly. I see the world through my eyes. And you see things in your own way. I see how I create my own life experience based on my attitudes,my thoughts and my actions. I am unique and I see the world according to my own perceptions.
You create your life based on your own values, perceptions and patterns. you are a unique and very worthy individual. I am a  free and complete individual who brings something totally new to life. You aare a very special individual and you carry that in all  of your life experience everywhere you go.

Today I live life to the fullest I now jump head-on into the adventure of  life. I will not hide from risks. for too long my life has been marked by the boredom of routine. Looking for security I let myself sink into a routine that has eventually began to feel like a grave. Today I want to explore and broaden my horizons on the physical, mental and spiritual levels. I want to feel the Euphoria of New experiences.I believe I can create precisley the life I want to live. I DO Not have to compromise.

GEOGRAPHY

British Columbia, Canada's westernmost province, is located on the Pacific coast of North America, and has a land and freshwater area of 95 million hectares. It is Canada's third largest province and comprises 9.5 percent of the country's total land
area. The province is nearly four times the size of Great Britain, 2.5 times larger than Japan, and larger than any American state except Alaska. The province is bounded by the U.S. states of Washington, Idaho and Montana in the south, Alberta on the east, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon on the north, Alaska on the northwest and
the Pacific Ocean to the west. From south to north, B.C. stretches 1,200 kilometres and from east to west as much as 1,050 kilometres. Its deeply indented, island-dotted coastline extends 7,000 kilometres.

British Columbia is characterized by mountainous topography, but also has substantial areas of lowland and plateau country. The province has four basic regions: a north-westerly trending mountain system on the coast, a similar mountain system on
the east, an extensive area of plateau and mountain country between the two, and a lowland segment of the continent's Great Plains in the northeastern part of the province.

The province encompasses an abundance of waterways in the form of rivers, lakes and streams. Freshwater surfaces total 1.8 million hectares. Major river systems include the Fraser, Columbia, Skeena and Peace Rivers.

British Columbia has a rich variety of habitats, including forests, grasslands, meadows, wetlands, rivers and inter-tidal and sub-tidal zones. They support the greatest diversity of plants and mammals of any province in Canada. In addition to their diversity, the populations of some species in B.C. have global significance. The province has 75 percent of the world's stone sheep, 60 percent of the mountain goats, 50 percent of the
blue grouse, at least half of the trumpeter swans and 25 percent of the grizzly bears and bald eagles.

Provincial parks, recreation areas and ecological reserves are protected within the province's Protected Areas System, for world class conservation, outdoor recreation, education and scientific study. These areas now cover 11.35 million hectares or 11.8 percent of the province. The entire Tatshenshini-Alsek region, almost one million
hectares in northwestern B.C., has been protected as a Class A provincial park and nominated as a World Heritage Site. The Khutzeymateen Valley, also in the northwest, is permanently protected as a grizzly bear habitat.

An interesting article I came across

THE CURIOUS CASE OF THE CANNABIS KILLER
2005-06-16    >> news category      >> exclusive

James Roszko was a hermit, a gun nut, a convicted pedophile and ultimately a murderer - who also happened to grow pot. So guess where the police, the press and the politicians decided to lay the blame when he gunned four Canadian Mounties in cold blood?

By Ian Mulgrew

It was a cold Thursday morning in northern Alberta, and snow still blanketed most of the prairie. Even if you were looking, you probably wouldn’t have seen the killer moving through dawn’s early light— stealthily approaching his farm’s large corrugated-steel Quonset hut and slipping inside. James Roszko had draped himself in a white sheet to blend in with the winter landscape and pulled his socks over his shoes to avoid leaving tracks. He’d also jammed a 9-millimeter semi-automatic pistol down the front of his pants, slung a rifle over his shoulder, and carried at the ready a Heckler & Koch .308-caliber Model 91 semi-automatic assault rifle equipped with a large (and illegal, in Canada) 20-round magazine. The 46-year-old was well camouflaged and even better armed for the ambush to come.

We’ll never know how long he lay in wait. But when four young Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers entered his shed (which among other things concealed a marijuana garden) later that morning, Roszko was in position and ready to kill. Peter Schiemann, Anthony Gordon, Lionide Johnston and Brock Myrol were mercilessly gunned down before they even knew he was there. But what Roszko didn’t know was that two other Mounties —from the Auto Theft Unit—remained outside, changing into overalls. As he stepped out of the Quonset hut and into the sharp, cold, flat morning light, they drew down on him. The ensuing firefight was brief. Roszko was shot twice in the groin, the police fusillade blowing him back inside the shed. The officers retreated, too, and summoned backup. While they waited, Roszko committed suicide.

By the time the Emergency Response Team secured the area, the reverberations of the single worst loss of life in RCMP history were already shaking a country that cherishes its federal force as a national icon. In his Stetson and scarlet serge, the Mountie remains as much a symbol of Canada as the maple leaf. Surprisingly, though, police and Justice Department officials immediately channeled the nation’s outrage and grief not at the killer, but at those who advocated more liberal marijuana laws and supported the government’s plan to decriminalize pot possession.

Interesting tidbits of information!

Interesting tidbits of information!

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.

If you fart consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.
:eek:That proves that the butt is more powerful than the mouth.

From my experience with Mexican food, if the above fact is true, I'm amazed that Mexico hasn't produced a nuclear bomb yet.

Living for You, Living for Me

I could not resist letting you guys see this! this guy is good, really good keep it up MIKE!! please stop by his space and say hello!!

Living for You, Living for Me

Living For You, Living For Me

As much as I try to form myself into who I want to be,

I just never seem to be getting as close as I think I am.

There's always something else.

I am never enough for anyone unless they’re all happy.

Yeah, I say not to care about what others think,

and to be your own person,

but it's nice to have others around,

which is why so many of us work to earn love.

But is that right?

Should you have to work to receive the universal love

that everyone deserves?

If everyone deserves it, then why would anyone

have to put any effort into getting it?

Why don't we get what we are supposed to get?

No one is ever enough for anyone else.

You have to have a good personality,

a sense of humour.

You have to be a good friend,

always listen, and give

advice at the right time.

We're never liked for who we are - -

unless who we are happens to go by the

standards for wanting to be liked.

I wish I knew the answers to every question in the world,

but even then, I wouldn't be happy,

because I would know that someone else

wouldn't be happy either.

I live for others - but guess what, you do too.

WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST

Ok glad you passed the quiz..lol cannot believe myself there are so many that suffer from this addiction, crazy eh!

here is a fun one my cousin LIndsay sent me wanted to share!

Have  a great weekend and HAPPY FATHERS DAYxxoxoxo

WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST
She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee.

Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box.
Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week.
Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl.
And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.

WOMEN'S REVENGE

"Cash, check or charge?" I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.

As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.
"So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked.
"No," she replied, " but my husband refused to come shopping with me,

and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally."

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN

(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE)
I know I'm not going to understand women.

I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax,

pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root,

and still be afraid of a spider.

MARRIAGE SEMINAR
While attending a Marriage Seminar dealing with communication,

Tom and his wife Grace listened to the instructor,

"It is essential that husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes."
 He addressed the man,
"Can you name your wife's favorite flower?"
Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and  whispered, "It's Pillsbury, isn't it?

CIGARETTES AND TAMPON

A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up and down the aisles.

The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him.

He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife.

She directs him down the correct aisle.

A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter.
She says, confused, "Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife?
He answers, " You see, it's like this,
yesterday, I sent  my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; cause it's sooo-ooo--oo-ooo much cheaper.
So, I figure if I have to roll my own .......... so does she.
( I figure this guy is the one on the milk carton! )

WIFE VS. HUSBAND
A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word.

An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position.

As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, "Relatives of yours?"

"Yep," the wife replied, "in-laws."

W O R D S

A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000.
The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men...

The husband then turned to his wife and asked, "What?"

CREATION

A man said to his wife one day, "I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time.

" The wife responded, "Allow me to explain.

God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me;
God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!

WHO DOES WHAT
A man and his wife were having an argument about who
should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, "You should do it, because you get up first,

and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee."
The husband said, " You are in charge of cooking around here and

you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee."
Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible

that the man should do the coffee."
Husband replies, "I can't believe that, show me."
So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament

and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says.........."HEBREWS"

The Silent Treatment
A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each
other the silent treatment.  Suddenly, the man realized that the next day,
he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.

Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,
"Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM
and he had missed his flight.  Furious, he was about to go and
see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by
the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."
Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.

I am not a fan of Star Trek at all but the youngest tunes in sometimes

Thoughts

after watching an old re-run of Star Trek - you know the Sci-Fi series with Scotty, Spock, Kirk and the gang. I'm not a  fan(sorry Stephen) - and I assure you I am not a Trekkie.

But this episode caught my attention  the crew lands on a planet where anything they want is created  all they have to do is think about it .. and it becomes reality. It's a vacation destination and the crew arrives for some much needed rest and relaxation. So naturally .. they're in a good mood before they even arrive and all their thoughts are about having fun and enjoying life.

In the beginning everybody is having a wonderful time - it's pure heaven - they're creating wonderful things and having the times of their lives. This goes on for some time -- but after a while things start to change. As the crew gets tired they begin creating negative situations. They start creating things they don't want. The episode is about a lot of other things and it also a villain - but in some cases - the villain is their own mind - and the negative thoughts that it thinks over and over again. These very thoughts from their own mind - which created a wonderful life for them in the beginning is now making their lives miserable.

This really caught my attention and I could only respond by saying what Spock would say: "Fascinating!" (I can even raise the single eyebrow just like he does.)

What struck me is that what "Star Trek" was depicting in this particular episode was an analogy of real life - because this is exactly what we do in our lives everyday - all the time.

We get started on something new and we have this tremendous positive energy. Everything goes well in the beginning. Whether it's a new job, a new relationship, moving to a new area, a new project - anything. We start off with this tremendous zeal and passion. But after a while we grow tired. Our positive energy now turns negative and our thoughts begin to work against us. Before you know it - you start creating things you don't want.

Yes your thoughts that are created by your own mind create the things you don't want. In the end it is you and your negative, self- destructive thoughts that create the things you don't want in life - and you do this without even knowing it!

It all starts when you lose focus what you want and stop creating the goals you had set out to achieve. Instead of creating what you want you start saying things like: I hate my job, my boyfriend/girlfriend is difficult, I don't like it here anymore - and the pattern continues.

Then things get progressively worse and you wonder what went wrong.

I'll tell you what went wrong.

You stopped controlling your thoughts. You stopped having positive thoughts and most important of all - you stopped creating the things you want in life.

How?

You lost control of your thoughts.

Your thoughts are magical. Thoughts are powerful forces of energy. Thoughts create everything you want in life. Thoughts can even create the things you don't want. Thoughts can only come from your mind - and you are the only person in charge of your own mind. So you create the thoughts that create the circumstances of your life. Since your thoughts create your reality - you create your reality.

How is this possible?

Your thoughts are picked up by your subconscious mind - an incredible power that will create anything you tell it. Your instructions to your subconscious mind are your thoughts. Your subconscious doesn't know good from bad. It doesn't know right from wrong. It only follows your instructions - which are your thoughts.

But just like the crew enjoying a vacation in that episode of Star Trek - after a while you lose control of your thoughts and you start creating negative situations - and until now - you never knew you were doing this. Well, now you know.

So what can you do to take control of your thoughts and start creating the things you want?

The first thing you need to do is pay attention to your thoughts. Catch yourself thinking. Analyze your thoughts - listen to what you are thinking. Then decide if these are good thoughts, bad thoughts or needless thoughts. Decide if these thoughts work for you or against you.

I can assure you that 90-percent of the thoughts you have either serve no purpose or work against you. If this is the case - you need to change them and consciously insert new thoughts - thoughts that will work for you and create the life you want.

Now I know this is easier said than done. But it is a process that must begin with you understanding how your thoughts work and create your reality.

Defending this Monster..HOLMOLKA

I am under the impression that the lawyer that was defending this monster Holmolka, withheld the proof that would convict both Karla and her husband and that is why she was offered a plea bargain so that they could make sure they could convict Paul Bernardo. If so why does this low life lawyer walk the streets a free man and is not behind bars like Bernardo. He is just as guilty as the two idiots who did commit the crimes. When it was presented to the court that this evidence was withheld (tapes,DNA and so on), why did the person responsible not get arrested for withholding evidence and be severly punished for his actions.Maybe if they would have revoked his liscence permanently other low life lawyers would think twice about lying to help disgusting criminals like these two. Also are the authorities so unintelligent to think that all of this was all Bernardo’s idea!He was the scarbourough rapist but never killed till he met the superior monster behind the brutal murders. All her ideas.Remember, she had every opportunity to let the first girl go but didn’t.To think that she is using the excuse that he beat her up and that the authorities feel sorry for her makes me sick to the very pit of my stomach. Are they all weak? They see a pretty face and oh well of what she’s done ……….SHE’S A WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I’ve got just one more thing to say.People are people no matter if your man or woman. If you do the crime ,you do the time…………no plea bargan.

politically appropriate ?

Marion Boyd and the Karla Holmolka deals

One of Marion Boyd’s most notable feminist accomplishments was her involvement with the Karla Holmolka deals. Marion Boyd was the Attorney General who approved the two deals involving Holmolka, the first in May of 1993, just after she became the Attorney General and the second in May of 1995, just before leaving. The citizens of Ontario were enraged when Holmolka, who was involved in the most grotesque sexual assaults and murders of young girls, including the sexual assault and murder of her own sister, was given what many would consider “a get out of jail card free” by the Attorney General’s Office. The trial of Holmolka lasted only three minutes after the Attorney General’s Office worked out a behind the scenes deal to get this woman murderer off the hook with a sweet deal. The deal given to Holmolka by the Attorney General’s Office was weighted heavily in Homolka's favour and was strictly adhered to by the judge, Mr. Justice Kovacs. Analysis of the submissions of the Crown Attorney and the Defence Attorney, as well as the judges reasons for sentencing, clearly exposed the gross miscarriage of justice by letting this women get a reduced sentence. The mishandling of the case by the Attorney General’s Office, headed by Marion Boyd, was a gross embarrassment to the citizens of Ontario.

Marion Boyd’s involvement in the Holmolka affair was so sickening that in a speech to the Canadian Senate in March 1996, which made mention of Marion Boyd, the Honourable Senator Ann Cools stated:

Canadians must know the extent of the Honourable Marion Boyd's personal role and interventions in this affair. Ms. Homolka was exceptionally well treated by the Attorney General's office, which treatment is curious and troubling. The first deal, made in 1993, granted Homolka immunity from certain prosecutions, fixed a lenient sentence, and forgave certain offences, including culpability in the death of her own sister, Tammy. Though she was never charged with this killing, an extremely unusual procedure happened that day in court. Her court hearing documents, her culpability, thereby precluding charges from ever being laid. All the circumstances of her culpability in her sister's death were read into the record.

Mr. Justice Kovacs' adjudication and ruling complied with the intent of the prosecution's deal and its forgiveness of Homolka. As an experienced justice of the Ontario court, Mr. Justice Kovacs' judgments and judicial action are enigmatic. His adjudication had the effect of largely exonerating Homolka, exempting her from punishment. Judicial action shielded her and insulated her from the penalty suited to her crimes.

Despite the horrendous crimes requiring his judicial scrutiny, Mr. Justice Kovacs deferred to prosecutorial discretion. Simply put, the Crown prosecutors favoured Homolka over Bernardo because she was a woman, and such seemed politically appropriate in the political atmosphere of May 1993.
